In 2014, the team was composed of two 3rd grade and three 7th grade students. Currently, the team is composed of two brothers (5th grade and 9th grade students) and their little sister (kindergarten)
Our goal is to teach and encourage kids about the importance of being prepared and proactive during typhoon season and the flooding that often accompanies this.
We also hope to be able to provide dry bags (water-proof and float-capable) with some basic school supplies to less-fortunate children in areas often affected by flooding.
Education is Important
We want to help children realize that learning and continuing education (despite natural calamities like typhoons and floods) is possible and is the key to a bright future – which is why they have to take extra care of their schools things.
Hope In a Bag
To give children hope even in times of calamities (specially flooding). We hope to provide kids with a simple to use yet effective tool (dry bag) to keep their important school things safe. We also will teach them how to use it properly when there is an incoming typhoon and before floods strike their community.
Being Prepared Can Make a Big Difference in Children’s Lives
We want to help kids understand that it is important to prepare to protect their important things (schools supplies, books, etc.). Having to purchase replacement school supplies and items can be avoided by planning ahead and being prepared. It also will save their parents money and allow them to continue with their school work.
Because Kids Can Make A Difference
We believe that kids (like us) that use their intelligences CAN MAKE A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE in other people’s lives. We also believe that kids ideas, though sometimes maybe seemingly simple, can be very effective – even when finding solutions to problems.
After a decade of service to children, in 2005, the Multiple Intelligence International School launched the “M.I. Kids Can: For Kids, By Kids” movement! It is a movement that empowers children with the understanding that with their intelligences they can make a difference!
Music Smart, Picture Smart, Word Smart, People Smart, Number Smart, Body Smart, Self Smart, Nature Smart
Support us and help us to provide school children in a flood-prone area with an extra set of school supplies and a special water-proof dry bag to keep their things safe and dry. It costs approximately US$10.00 to provide one (1) beneficiary with a Hope Afloat dry bag kit.
